Barca are taking a serious option to defend their title. Winner of the Champions League last season, the Catalans made short work of Wolfsburg in the first leg of the Women’s C1 semi-final (5-1). In a supercharged Camp Nou, Alexia Putellas’ teammates quickly took the lead.
Bonmati opened the scoring in the 3rd minute before Hansen doubled the lead a few moments later (10th). Barça gave a boost before the break when Hermoso and Putellas worsened the mark in quick succession (33rd, 38th).
In the second half, Roord thought to restore some hope to the Germans but Putellas offered himself a double at the end of the game, on penalty (85th). Barça took the opportunity to break an attendance record for a women’s match, with more than 91,000 spectators.
